a. To examine the architectural and landscape projects, to give opinions, to carry out the works and procedures for their approval, to determine the principles of architectural design, of the structures, architectural and landscape projects required by the General Directorate in natural assets and natural protected areas and special environmental protection areas,

b. To prepare projects of all scales, to examine, control, approve, invest in or provide support for the investments of relevant administrations (or contract a third party to do so) on preliminary works of the investment projects decided to be carried out by the General Directorate in order to protect natural assets and natural protected areas and special environmental protection zones and to prevent pollution,

c. To carry out researches the applicability of innovative and advanced technologies for environmental protection in natural assets and natural protected areas and special environmental protection zones and preparing projects when necessary, as well as making and creating ecological designs to be used in environmentally sensitive settlement and building models that are compatible with natural and cultural values, the applicability of innovative and advanced technologies for environmental protection search,

d. To carry out the works and procedures related to the inspection of practices against the legislation, to ensure coordination with the relevant units,

e. To carry out the work and transactions related to the Central Commission for the Protection of Natural Assets and regional commissions,

f. To fulfill similar duties assigned by the general manager regarding the field of activity.
